Data Management Services

The CSR staff is equipped to help the research community at Notre Dame in:


  • identifying potential data sources for research projects
  • acquiring, organizing and utilizing data from various social research organizations and archives, such as the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), the National Opinion Research Center (NORC), the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research, and various government agencies
  • coordinating requests to acquire restricted data from existing social surveys such as the General Social Survey (GSS), the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID), or the American National Election Studies (ANES)
  • managing a secure data room for restricted data
  • designing, populating, and maintaining social science research databases
  • assessing the data management needs of your project
  • identifying solutions for data management and archiving
  • developing a data management plan as part of grant proposals
  • informing about various data archives
