Data Management Plans

A data management plan (DMP) can help researchers in many ways, including increasing the impact of their research, meeting grant requirements, promoting new research, and saving time and other resources. The CSR can assist you developing a DMPby assessing the data management needs of your project and identifying state-of-the-art solutions for data management and archiving. Listed below are some tools for creating a DMP

The DMP Tool allows users to easily create, review, and share data management plans that meet the requirements of certain institutions and funders, including the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the US Department of Energy. The DMP tool was developed by a partnership of major research institutions as a direct response to demands from grant-funding agencies that researchers plan for managing their research data. It is offered as a service by the University of California Curation Center of the California Digital Library.

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) offers the Guidelines for Effective Data Management Plans.
