Literate Programming

Location: 129 Hesburgh Library

This module is an introduction to Literate Programming (LP for short) with an emphasis on statistical programming using R and LaTex. Statistical analysis often consists of a text file (e.g., an .R file) containing program code with scattered comments describing the various parts of the code. In LP the emphasis is reversed: instead of writing code containing documentation, theprogrammer writes write documentation containing code, with the goal of integrating analysis and reporting. This module provides an overview of major concepts and examples that can be modified to meet various needs.

Prerequisites: please have R, R Studio, and a LaTeX distribution installed on your computer in advance of the session.
